BIZARROS & RUBBER CITY REBELS: 1977, From Akron [Clone Records]

Was it the Akron water? The smell of rubber in the air? Or was it the overwhelming boredom with 70's rock music that caused these sons of rubber factory workers to take action? Whatever the case, in the late 1970's the Bizarros swam against the current of mainstream rock & roll.
The Bizarros had various releases in the 1970's, including their self-titled album on Mercury Records. In 2003, they completed their first new album in 20 years and released "Can't Fight Your Way Up Town From Here."

Sin Dios (English: Godless) was a hardcore/anarcho-punk band from Spain that formed in 1988 in Madrid. Their first gigs were held in squatted houses (in Spanish Casa Okupa). Since then, they have produced five albums and many eps and complitaions. Also been to numerous concert tours across Europe, Latin America and Japan.
On the 30th of July 2006 the band announced that they would "cease its musical activity". The announcement was followed among other things by "TO OUR ENEMIES: WE CONTINUE ON OTHER FRONTS" and by denunciations to the Israeli aggression, American imperialism and the like.

THE QUEERS: 1995, Surf Goddess [Lookout! - LK108CD]

The Queers are punk rock band formed in Portsmouth, New Hampshire, in 1982. Their sound is heavily influenced by the Ramones and '60s bubblegum pop and their songs often feature humorous and juvenile lyrics. The original line up consisted of Joe King (Vocals/Guitar), Tulu (Vocals/Bass), and Wimpy Rutherford (Drums). The band released one 7" EP with this line up. In 1984, the band released a second 7", this time with Tulu on drums, Wimpy singing, and Keith Hages playing bass. The band split shortly afterwards but Joe would occasionally use the name throughout the '80s, playing with various line-ups (King's most frequent collaborators were JJ Rassler (guitar) and Hugh O'Neill (drums)) for sporadic shows in Boston and New Hampshire, although there were no recordings created at this time, and by the end of the decade the band had pretty much become inactive.
